The HP EliteBook 2540p is designed keeping in mind the needs of businessmen and executive users. It comes with some innovative features that makes it one of the best portable notebooks in today’s market.

The body of the laptop is covered in the new “HP DuraCase” and “HP DuraFinish,” : a hard plastic, strong magnesium alloy inner shell strengthened by a brushed aluminum outer shell which is scratch-resistant. The base of the laptop has been designed to be strong to survive bumps and dents. The solid keyboard has absolutely no flex.
The 2540p anti-glare widescreen displays fine details without reducing sizes while working. The resolution might be inadequate it is used as a mobile video and photo editing platform.
When viewed from straight ahead, the colors are vibrant with excellent contrast, deep blacks and good viewing angles. Horizontal viewing angles are particularly impressive so you shouldn’t have trouble showing a presentation to multiple people sitting at a desk.
Audio Quality
The in-built speaker, located on the bottom front side of the notebook, so that sound, which is clear, isn’t diverted upward at the user while using is moderately good with a proper highs, middles and lows ranges. There is a headphone jack on the 2540p which filters static or other noise.
The keyboard design is quite unique in this model. The individual key presses come without loud clicking noises while typing. Keys are flatter, with little less space in between to accommodate the pointstick.

The EliteBook 2540p includes decent keyboard lights. There is a tiny light bulb button above the screen, which when pressed, a small LED begins shining not very brightly, but bright enough for viewing without distraction
A series of touch-sensitive media buttons: Info, Presentation Mode, Wi-Fi Toggle and Mute touch buttons on the glossy strip above the keyboard. A volume control slider which can be used by sliding finger across it is next to the Mute button. An excellent feature on the 2540p is a touchpad disable button that allows you to turn it off.
The DuraFinish on touchpad ensures that oils from fingertip aren’t deposited on the surface.
