Build and Design

The M2010 is painted in a beautiful glossy metallic inside and out with glossy piano black plastic around the Keyboard  top and around the screen.
The top-notch build quality is without squeaks around the chassis, and some amount of flex from larger plastic surfaces. The screen hinges are strong with good tension, pivoting the screen properly when in use. The standard “Fujitsu Felt” is found on the bottom underneath the processor location, which limits the amount of heat transfer while pressing it against the legs.
Internal components can be accessed through a single panel at the bottom, but allows the user to bring out the system memory and wireless card.

Screen and Speakers

The M2010 has a great-looking glossy screen, with LED backlights. Rich, vivid colors, with superb contrast and excellent black levels are observed. Brightness levels set at the highest values, are best for viewing in bright office conditions. Viewing angles are average, with colors beginning to invert 20 degrees forward or back. Horizontal viewing angles are better.

The speakers deliver an average performance. Highest volume levels are suitable in a small room, but not in a larger room. Bass and midrange are absent, with only higher frequencies coming in. Experts recommend use of headphones for a good experience of enjoying music or movies.
Keyboard and Touchpad

The model has one of the smallest and most cramped keyboard layouts. There is a wide border around the keyboard, which goes great with the shiny red finish, but falls short of   typing surface. But the keyboard feels very sturdy with excellent support and minimal flex under high typing pressure. Each key action is smooth, and the keys hardly wobble while using. The noise during typing is soft.
The M2010 has a small Synaptics touchpad in a smooth matte finish which is easy to operate with no considerable lag. A Synaptics feature called “Momentum” is used, which when switched off made the touchpad motion feel more comfortable. The touchpad also supports some multi-touch gestures, including Flick, Pinch, and ChiralRotate etc. The touchpad buttons are equipped with a seesaw button that is so flexible that both buttons can be pressed simultaneously. Feedback is minimal, with a loud click when pressed.

Ports

The M2010 offers three USB ports, VGA out, headphone/mic, and SDHC multi-card reader, and LAN connection, a Kensington Lock slot.

Build and Design

The Interior has a palmrest, keyboard trim and screen bezel in metallic black finish with chrome accents around the touchpad bordering the front edge making it look very sleek.

The build quality falls below those found in other business notebooks. Main panels, like the palmrest, screen cover, have some minute flex. The paint quality is great with the finish proven to be quite resistant to dents and scratches. Everything is done in matte plastic that suits the shiny black finish perfectly hiding dirt and finger stains. Easy access to the hard drive and system memory can be obtained through two panels on the bottom.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The LifeBook AH550 comprises of a comfortable keyboard with tactile feedback. Key wobble is hardly noticed with smooth travel for larger keys. It is spill-resistent and full-sized complete with a numeric pad. But despite being a multimedia notebook, dedicated multimedia keys or function keys are absent with a support key as the only auxiliary button.

The touchpad is basically a medium-sized ALPS model supporting multitouch gestures. Touch sensitivity is excellent. The supported gestures are pan scrolling, pinch zoom and pivot rotation. Chiral scrolling action as an added option is also supported apart from standard up and down scrolls.

Screen and Speakers

The screen is supported with an LED-backlit panel with a 1366×768 WXGA resolution.. The panel has some moderately good color with proper contrast. The sleek shiny screen creates a greater color saturation and better black levels. Screen brightness is good enough for viewing indoors, but not so for outdoor viewing.

The speakers are found above the keyboard. The bass and midrange are very weak even for small rooms. A pair of headphones or digital audio over HDMI should be used as experts suggest.

Ports and Features

The Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 has various ports like four USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI-out, LAN and analog audio jacks etc for good connectivity.

Dell Vostro 3400 Laptop: Does what it says

Dell Vostro 3400 is a laptop that ends the cravings of a businessman. With energy-efficient next-generation Intel processors, long battery life and affordable prices; the Dell Vistro 3400 Laptop is one of the best possible products in the market. Fulfilling its motto of ‘ultra capable, ultra mobile’; the laptop is specifically designed to fulfill the needs of small business. The laptop weighs only 4.56 pounds and still maintains its durability. It can be brought along with ease.

Backed by Intel Core i3 and i5 mobile processors (2.13GHz, 3MB L3 Cache), Windows 7 Professional and up to 6GB of DDR3 memory (RAM), Dell Vostro 3400 Laptop is the fastest possible laptop available in the market for small business. It is much faster and provides higher overall system performance and video and gaming performance than its competitors like Dell Inspiron 14, ThinkPad Edge 14 and Apple 13-inch Mac Book Pro. With 250GB hard disk, 8X DVD writer and HD Graphics Media Accelerator, the laptop has defied the time space continuum. Data storage, transfer and access capacities are no limitations in this laptop.

Battery backup of 6-cell 56WHr increases the usability of Dell Vostro 3400 Laptop and makes it much more engaging. According to Dell, the 6-cell battery can deliver backup up to 4 hours and 40 minutes (based on MobileMark Synthetic benchmark). The battery backup can be increased by opting for 9-cell extended battery. The port selection on the Vostro 3400 laptop exceptionally increases the product’s connectivity and data transfer capability. It carries four combo USB/eSATA port (including three USB 2.0 port), an Ethernet, a multi-format memory card reader, an ExpressCard slot and a VGA and HDMI video out-port each. Wireless Network Card and Bluetooth Module provide short range and long range connectivity to the laptop. Video conferencing is possible with inbuilt webcam with microphones. In short, all the necessary features expected in a ‘small business laptop’ are rendered in Dell Vostro 3400 Laptop.

The laptop also possesses some accessory features. The 14 inch frame work of Dell Vostro 3400 laptop has been given an elegant cut with a delicate integration of plastic and aluminum casing to maintain durability, mobility and affordability of the product. With high-definition (1366 x 768) panel and CUDA-capable Nvidia graphics card, the display features are exaggerated to provide an efficacious video editing tool. The cooling system of Dell Vostro 3400 Laptop maintains minimum overall body temperature (<100F) thereby supplying durability to the product. The touch pad, speakers and keyboard are satisfactory; but, well, they are not the most basic necessities of a businessman.

Dell Vostro 3400 Laptop is accompanied by multiple data protection facilities (the Dell Services). Data and privacy can be secured from thieves and competitors by opting for the multi factor authentication process of fingerprint reader. To protect the hard disk (and data stored in it) from physical damage, special shock absorbers and free fall sensors are incorporated into the hard drive. Dell also provides optional online backup services for data preservation. The after sale services and other optional product services (like increased warranty and expert installation services) help the businessman to keep the focus on the business.

The all good story of Dell Vostro 3400 Laptop has minor fallout. There has been some concern about the flex of the screen lid. The screen lid of Dell Vostro 3400 Laptop is thin and poses a danger of getting damaged with minor shock (though, there is no reported case for the same).

Dell Vostro 3400 is equipped with a fast and responsive processor, large data storage capacity and efficient battery backup. Endorsement of Dell Services makes the laptop a profitable investment. It is worth mentioning that with this laptop Dell can win the crusade over the market share. What makes the machine even more appealing is its affordable price. Now it has become possible for one to inspire oneself like never before with the Dell Inspiron 11z, the first of the Inspiron series of laptops brought out by the comput er giant Dell. Dell is definitely a force to reckon with in the field of laptop design and laptop construction. The Dell Inspiron 11z was launched in 2009 and has become one of the highest selling laptops in the world and also in the United States of America thanks to the amazing sales that the laptop has witnessed bringing Dell to a position of a market leader in the field of laptop design and laptop construction, that was previously occupied by giants like Lenovo and HP. Now Dell has become a market leader thanks to the large share of the market that is occupied by the sale of the Inspiron series of laptops of Dell, that has edged out competition in the form of the Lenovo ThinkPads as well as the Sony vaios. The Dell Inspiron is not a super slim laptop like the Sony vaio E series laptops that were launched earlier this year. It is reasonably slim, moderately light weight and is also extremely portable. It is available in quite a number of variants and shades. The ruby red shade on the top in the most favourite among people from all over the world. The Dell Inspiron 11z boasts of a power packed performance and it runs on a 2009 Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor or even an Intel Celeron processor. The width of the screen is around 14 inches. We all know that the newly launched Apple iPad has actually all the features of a normal or a conventional laptop and in fact much more than one can possibly dream of. In fact the Apple iPod has quite a number of really amazing features that were almost impossible to incorporate in a conventional laptop. But the Dell Inspiron 11z has succesfully accomodated all of these features (except of course the multi touch features) as it has a full QWERTY keypad. But that is precisely what (to some people) makes it a better device. Also it is available at less than a quarter of a price of an iPad. Indeed it is almost unfair to compare the Dell Inspiron 11z to an Apple iPad. Both work on absolutely different technology. Thus the Dell Inspiron 11z is a laptop that people all over the world crave for. It is a very functional device and will definitely stand the test of time, predict laptop, note book and computer experts. The Dell Inspiron 11z is in certain ways better than its successor, the Dell Inspiron 14, and also is other successor, the Dell Inspiron N series. It is also way better than the super slim Sony Vaio E series range of laptops on account of its power packed performance, superb connectivity to the internet and high power of processing, and is possibly the best and obviously the most popular Dell laptop of all time. This fact can also be confirmed by sales reports.

Dell Inspiron 14

The Dell Inspiron 14 that was released in 2010 is now also available in the N series format but the Dell Inspiron 14 is definitely the more popular version. The Dell Inspiron 14 is an amazingly smart machine. But what actually strikes one when one is working on the Dell Inspiron 14 or when one catches a glimpse of the Dell Inspiron 14 for the first time is that this power packed machine is available in a mind boggling number of variants in terms of colour and shade. The ruby red top Dell Inspiron 14 is undoubtedly the hot favourite of the masses. The Dell Inspiron 14 scores really high marks on the glamour quotient as well as on the performance. In both parameters it impresses. The functionality is enhanced by the smart touch pad that is responsive to the lightest touch. The surface of the laptop is coated with a layer of durable plastic that gives it a highly stylish, sleek and shiny appearance and also makes it extremely durable, scratch resistant and relatively safe from wear and tear as a result of rough usage. The Dell Inspiron 14 has an Intel Core processor, and was released in the year 2010. It also has a 11.6 inch wide screen which is not very wide but still wide enough for clear visibility and use. The Dell Inspiron 14 is one of a kind because it packs in so mny features and does not cost that much. So the Dell Inspiron 14 is basically one of the best laptops in this segment. The Dell Inspiron 14 is basically a laptop that one always dreamt of possessing. It has a very fast ROM, plus there is room for expansion to make the laptop faster than what it already is.
The Apple iPad that has recently been launched worldwide actually has all the features of a conventional laptop and actually also much more that one can possibly dream of. In fact actually it has quite a number of amazing features that were actually almost impossible to incorporate in a conventional laptop. It is for this reason that the new Apple iPad is actually being hailed as the laptop killer. Apple actually wishes to modify people’s preferences and actually enhance the use of smart gadgets like the Apple iPad which exclusively function of the basis of touch. With gadgets like the Apple iPad in the market it seems that the conventional laptop will die a forlorn death. But thanks to the 2010 Dell Inspiron 14 this does not seem to be a likely possibility. A launch of a laptop and  laptop killer at the same time has led to the popularity of both. Although it is true that the iPad is flying off the shelves in all parts of the world riding in the wave of new technology, but the Dell Inspiron 14 is also selling like hot cakes and this can be confirmed by lot of statistics. Dell is now rolling in profits thanks to the Dell Inspiron 14.

A silver frame around the wide, glossy screen is seen with a webcam at the top and some thin strips of rubber padding which might not go with the look. The silver border continues around the black speakers and keyboard. The front of the laptop is tapered a little bit with the back shaped deeper to avoid the box-like look. Overall the effect is nice and very catchy.

Keyboard and Trackpad

It has a backlit keyboard which is optional. It is turned on gradually while typing and becomes dim after about 60 seconds without typing to save power. The keyboard is full  and comfortable with a limited array of function keys and no numberic pad. A set of multimedia touch buttons is present. The trackpad is also comfortable to use, It is positioned slightly to the left and comes in a proper size.

Dell Studio XPS 16

The Dell Studio XPS 16 has been designed keeping in mind the demands of the consumers for power, state-of-the-art features and elegant style.

The use of leather on the hinge with metallic body of the laptop makes it look extremely fashionable and stands out in a crowd of laptops while helping you to grip the notebook even better. A sleek design combined with a 1080p display and hi-tech features have been incorporated to design the notebook. It has some really solid design and construction like the profile of the laptop shaped like a wedge, slot-loading optical drive, and touch-sensitive media buttons which make for some really good designs. It is sturdy and is not easily damaged even if it suffers a drop.
The Dell Studio XPS 16 has the following configuration:
1>    It is built around an Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.4GHz) processor
2>    It has a 4GB – 2DIMM DDR3 memory with HDD: 320GB 7200rpm

The keyboard is very well-designed and user-friendly with a white LED backlight equipped with it when typing and working in the dark. The Synatics touchpad functions efficiently enough, though it appears a little small when compared to the size of the notebook. Another good feature of the touchpad is that it’s very responsive, it has dedicated scroll areas and the glossy feel looks extremely attractive.
The built-in HDMI is appreciated by the consumers who want digital video and audio output. Absence of lugs/screw posts for the VGA cable makes the VGA connection look cleaner but isn’t efficient for people regularly leaving their laptops connected to an external monitor. But the addition of DisplayPort gives good video outputs. The speaker quality is extremely solid due to two large stereo speakers and built-in subwoofer providing an excellent range of midtones, highs and deep bass.
The model is an excellent choice for gaming and watching movies and also comes at a reasonable price.

AVADirect Clevo W765CUH Review

AVADirect’s new offering, W765CUH, is a multimedia notebook which doesn’t boast of a big brand name but delivers a top-notch performance all the same. It is aimed at consumers looking for a budget notebook with all great features.

Configuration

1> 15.6-inch 720p (1366 x 768) display with LED backlighting
2> Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
3> Intel Core i5-540M processor (2.53GHz, 3MB L3 cache)
4> ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 512MB DDR2 graphics card
5> 4GB DDR3-1333 Kingston RAM
6> 500GB 7200RPM hard drive (Seagate Momentus 7200.4/ST9500420AS)
7> Realtek RTL8191SE 802.11n Wireless LAN adapter
7>Built-in Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
9> 8X DVD Super Multi drive
10> One year limited warranty
11>Weight: 5.82 pounds
12>Dimensions: 14.75” (W) x 10.13” (D) x 1.5” (H)

Build and Design

The W765 has a very general look with no extraordinary features. Aesthetics is not one of its characteristics. The W765 makes its somewhat chunky 1.5-inch high chassis slimmer with inward-cut sides.
The laptop is built entirely of plastic with decent build quality. The plastic has minimal flex with absolutely no glossy plastic as matte plastic is more resistant and easier to clean. But the plastic creates an irritating rattling sound on tapping. The matte plastic on the visible surfaces has a metallic gleam.
In the interior, the chassis has a strong frame. The screen also doesn’t get twisted easily. Ripples are also not created on the screen on pushing on the back of the screen. Two strong hinges hold the display. One small drawback is that the screen cannot tilt back more than15-20 degrees past vertical.
Screen
The W765 has with two different screen resolutions: HD (1366 x 768) and HD+ (1600 x 900). In the former, the screen has LED backlights with a glossy surface. The display quality is superb, with excellent brightness and contrast. Horizontal viewing angles are good with minimal distortion. Vertical viewing angles are narrow.
The 1366 x 768 resolution is insufficient for a 15.6-inch screen as a higher resolution needs less scrolling and provides easier multitasking.
Speakers
The two speakers are surprisingly located in the bottom of the screen. Sound quality is tinny and poor with no tangible bass.
Keyboard and Touchpad

There’s a full-size or island-style keyboard with separate numeric keypad & the keys raised above the keyboard’s surface with more gaps. The keyboard feels hollow and unsettled with little flex.. The key action is simple and direct, ensuring typing accuracy. The matte key surfaces will wear slowly to the user’s advantage.
The drawback of the keyboard is lack of dedicated home, end, page up, and page down keys, which are incorporated as secondary functions in the arrow keys. If number lock is deactivated they can function as dedicated keys, but the number pad loses its efficiency. The number pad is an odd three-column with all standard keys present.
The touchpad is responsive, but the surface is too textured giving a rough feel. But the buttons are quiet and give good feedback

Ports and Features

The laptop has a number of input and output ports- Power, VGA out, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and eSATA, 2x USB 2.0, ExpressCard/54 (top), 7-in-1 media card reader (bottom),  , USB 2.0, optical drive, 56k modem, Kensington Lock slot etc.
